East River Park
The East River Park runs from the FDR drive and the East River from Montgomery Street to East 12th Street.
If you were noticing the homogenously boring feel of those once legendary East Village haunts last night then you are not alone. This weekend put on a pair of sneakers and feel the East Village at its finest. Once you cross over the E. 10th street overpass the options are endless: jump in on copa mundial futbol inside the track, calisthenics with Pols and Slavs over on the chin up bars, handball in the courts, b ball down the way, fishing, Bar B Q...Man, I hope the West Side HWY keeps em' away for a bit longer!

Ten Ren's Tea Time
79 MOTT STREET, SOUTH STORE NEW YORK, NY 10013
TEL: (212) 732-7178
Just off Mott and Canal, Ten Ren's Tea Time is a great change of pace from the usual Saturday afternoon nursing pints over Sportscenter. From what I heard, the original party boy Gautama Buddha discovered tea when some leaves fell into boiling water after a big night out. After your balanced, take a bag of nirvana home with you at Ten Ren's traditional tea store down at 75 Mott.
